Women’s Masters Hockey – Play, Compete, Connect!
Love hockey and want to keep playing at a competitive yet social level? The North West Sydney Hockey Association (NWSHA) Women’s Masters program is the perfect way to stay active, meet great people, and enjoy the game you love.
Who Can Play?
Masters competitions are open to women aged 34 and over (please contact the committee if you are unsure of your eligiblity). Whether you’re a seasoned player or returning to the sport, there’s a place for you!
Where We Compete
NWSHA enters Women’s Masters teams in:
- Sydney Women’s Hockey League (SWHL) Masters Competition at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush (regular winter season)
- Hockey NSW Women’s Masters State Championshipsheld at various locations throughout NSW over one weekend each year.
- Hockey NSW Women's Masters Indoor State Championships generally held in Goulburn in January / February.
- Other annual competitions throughout the year, watch our events page for details
We enter teams in each of the four SWHL divisions, and are always looking for new players to join:
- Division 1 – Wednesday nights (fortnightly games) | Starting April / May
- Division 2 – Wednesday nights (fortnightly games) | Starting April / May
- Division 3 – Monday nights (weekly games) | Starting April / May
- Division 4 – Monday nights (weekly games) | Starting April / May

How to Join
Expressions of Interest for each competition will be posted on our events page. If you are a member of NWSHA you will receive email notifications of these events, if not please email the committee for details or check our events page regularly.
You will need to be a financial member of one of our affliate clubs, and be registered with HockeyNSW to join any of the competitions.
Get Involved Off the Field
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the Masters Committee, help us with:
- Organising selectors and umpires
- Coordinating teams for State Championships
- Booking fields for trials and training
- Representing NWSHA at SWHL meetings
The workload is light when shared – your support makes a big difference!
