Representative Indoor Hockey

Welcome to the Indoor Hockey Season for 2026!
NWSHA endeavours to field indoor representative teams across Masters, Opens and the following age divisions: U14, U16, U18.
We are also planning on organising clinics and a Gala Day for U12. More information to come.
(If you have an under 12 player, please save the dates for 21 and 29 November)
Our representative teams will participate in trials, training and the Hockey NSW Indoor State Championships. The U14, U16 and U18 teams will also participate in the Greater Sydney Cup.
Registrations are now open.
Please note that registrations will close approximately one week before the trial. Please register in time. This will enable the association to determine how many teams to enter for each age bracket.
Masters events take place early in the new year and events / registration details will be advised at a later date.

Indoor hockey training venues:
This year NWSHA will run trials / training across several venues - Marie Bashir Mosman Sports Complex, at the Willoughby Leisure Centre and at the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, Narrabeen
Costs
Players and supporters will be responsible for their own accommodation and transport to all trials, training, and events. Fees will be rendered after each respective Indoor State Championships.
Uniforms / Equipment
NWSHA provides playing shirts for all selected team members. These form part of the playing uniform for all carnivals/ tournaments and will be collected by the Team Manager at the end of the last event. All other components of the team uniform (shorts and socks) are required to be purchased Players will need an indoor hockey stick, shin guards, face mask and mouthguard.
Policies
All NWSHA players who wish to nominate to trial, and play, for a representative team are required to read and accept the following policies*:

- The NWSHA Representative Player Trial / Selection Agreement
Age
Participants should trial for their own respective age bracket:
Under 14 - born 2012 & 2013
Under 16 - born 2010 & 2011
Under 18 - born 2008 & 2009
NWSHA will consider nominations for players younger than these age brackets based on their ability, experience and readiness. Players must play in their own age bracket, in addition to the higher age bracket. If you have a child who would like to trial for the age bracket above, please email info@nwsha.com.au.
Umpires
We are required to nominate an umpire per team we register to attend. If there is anyone interested in umpiring we would like to hear from you. Please email info@nwshha.com.au.
Managers
The team manager will become the main source of detailed information for the team, once it has been named. If you are interested in managing a team, then please email info@nwshha.com.au.
If you cannot attend the trial / training:
In the event that you are unable to attend a trial, please complete the NWSHA Request for Exemption as soon as possible or at least 48 hours before the selected event. NWSHA Request for Exemption

Mosman Hockey Club, our neighbours to the east offer an Indoor Hockey Programme to new and experienced players from all clubs and associations, with teams for all levels of players. Registrations for the junior competition on Friday nights will open on Friday 4 September. Have a look here: Mosman Hockey Indoor Programme.
